The lucky ones who live by the sea or near the ocean have a prime sports field. There’s nothing like going for your weekly sports session in the sun, lulled by the sound of the waves.
–Beach volleyball
Beach volleyball is THE beach sport par excellence which uses all the muscles of the body. It allows you to work on relaxation, coordination and endurance while burning a significant number of calories.
Additionally, practicing on sand reduces the risk of injury during daring landings!
–Swimming at sea
Ocean swimming is more demanding than pool swimming due to currents and waves. It works all the muscles, particularly those of the upper body, and offers an excellent cardiovascular workout.
Be careful, however, to check the flags on the beaches before practicing! No need to put yourself in danger!
–Surfing
Surfing is a complete nautical activity that allows you to work:
- The balance,
- The coordination,
- The agility,
- Strength, especially in the arms and legs.
Plus, paddling to catch waves is great exercise for your cardiovascular system.

Paddle or stand up paddle (SUP) uses the entire body, particularly the core muscles. It helps strengthen stabilizer muscles, improve balance and coordination, while providing light cardio activity.
It can be practiced standing or sitting on your board, allowing you to deepen the work of different parts of the body.
–Beach soccer
Beach soccer, or beach football, is a fun summer sport that particularly uses the leg muscles, heart and respiratory system.
Playing on sand increases the difficulty, making the activity even more effective at burning calories.
