Ideas For Vacation Destinations In The United States

Bathed by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west, famous for their cultural and vibrant metropolises, their wild and fascinating national parks, their unique history and the diversity of their landscapes, the United States constitutes a very inspiring travel destination in North America. With among others the Rockies, the Great Lakes, the Grand Canyon, the deserts, the crystal clear waters and the swamps of Florida… Here are some American places that are perfect for vacation!

New Orleans, Louisiana

Louisiana attracts us with its bayous, its mixed history (French, African-American, Cajun, etc.!) and its jazz music. We travel from north to south, but a stop in New Orleans for a few days is essential to experience the frenetic pace of this city full of contrasts.

The Arts District is just so interesting to discover, with its warehouses converted into museums and art galleries. The more conventional Garden District is home to numerous parks where you can relax and magnificent Victorian homes that are sure to charm you.

Outer Banks, North Carolina

On the coast of North Carolina are the Outer Banks, a string of barrier islands that offer 200 miles of beaches, dunes and fishing villages. The place is perfect for families and nature lovers. The fittest will happily climb the 257 steps of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse or explore the impressive sand dunes at Jockey’s Ridge Park. The more daring will try hang gliding (and do it solo from the first lesson!).

Outer Banks is also distinguished by its wild horses that roam freely and the legend of Blackbeard, who still haunts the coasts of this heavenly corner of the United States.

New York (Hudson Yards and Bushwick neighborhoods)

(Re)discover New York, the extravagant, near Hudson Yards, a new booming district near the High Line, a former railway line transformed into an urban park.

Want to admire the buildings of Midtown and the East River from another angle? Climb into the Roosevelt Island cable car. New York also has countless new addresses, particularly in the Bushwick district, also known for its street art. If it’s your first stay in the Big Apple, a tour of the must-sees is essential: the ferry to get close to the Statue of Liberty, Times Square at night, Ground Zero, MOMA, Central Park to take a picnic and the Brooklyn Bridge, the perfect backdrop to immortalize your visit.

Las Vegas and surrounding areas, Nevada

Las Vegas is so fascinating with its hotel-casinos, its large-scale shows, its nightlife, its chapels and the great kitsch of its monuments borrowed from elsewhere. The Art District with its art galleries and thrift stores, is a great discovery. A corner of Sin City to discover without fail!

You can immerse yourself in this flamboyant lifestyle of course. But why not rent a car and visit the countless natural wonders that are just a few hours’ drive away? Among these: Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead.

Also take a look at the Seven Magic Mountains. A multi-colored and impressive artistic installation, planted in the heart of a desert valley near Las Vegas.
