The Must-See Beaches In Romania

Although Romania is famous for its historical heritage with its castles, rustic villages and medieval towns, there are also some seaside resorts for travelers wishing to relax by the water. From the beaches of the Black Sea to the beaches of the Danube Delta, we take you to discover the must-see beaches in Romania.

The must-see beaches in Romania

Gura Portitei

Located in the Danube Delta nature reserve and separating Lake Golovita from the Black Sea, Gura Portitei beach enjoys exceptional nature, which makes it one of the most beautiful beaches in Romania. Formerly a fishing village, Gura Portitei is today a small seaside resort that has managed, despite its development, to keep its authenticity.

Corbu and Vadu

Located 22.5 km and 30 km from Constanta, Corbu and Vadu beaches are considered the wildest beaches in Romania. These large stretches of white sand are known for being ultra-quiet. The sea is shallow, making it ideal for swimming, especially for children.

With very little infrastructure, remember to bring your snacks! For the adventurous, know that Corbu and Vadu beaches are suitable for wild camping.

Perisor

Perisor Beach is one of the most isolated beaches in Romania. Located at the confluence of the Danube Delta with the Black Sea, 25 kilometers from Gura PortiΘ›ei, Perişor Beach is a little hidden treasure surrounded by nature reserves: the Periteasca-Leahova protected area to the south of the beach and Sacalin-Zatoane to the north. This beach, accessible only by boat, is renowned for its sublime nature and the presence of wild horses.

ConstanΘ›a and Mamaia

Are you looking for beaches with entertainment? Head to the beaches of ConstanΘ›a and Mamaia, the two most important seaside resorts in Romania. You will find all the facilities to enjoy your seaside stay: many hotels and restaurants, deckchairs and parasols, playgrounds and water activities to have fun with family or friends… These are also lively beaches during summer evenings.

Tuzla

Located 15 km from Tuzla, Tuzla beach is bordered by lush and wild nature. It is particularly famous for its idyllic landscape: between its turquoise and emerald green waters and its fine sand. No doubt, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Romania. On the beach, you will find a few bars and “cherhanas” where you can cool off and taste Romanian culinary specialties, including dishes based on fresh fish.

Good to know: it is on Tuzla beach that the Dakini festival, an electro music festival, takes place every year in August.

Sulina

Located at the mouth of the Danube, facing the Black Sea, Sulina beach is a beach popular with families. On the one hand, because it is long and rather calm and on the other hand because it is easy to swim there with children. Indeed, the water is at a good temperature and the depth is relatively shallow since you have to walk a little while before having water up to your hips.

Neptun

Neptun beach is not a beach but in reality, a succession of private beaches, each one as beautiful as the other. Among the many seaside resorts that follow one another, we can mention Olimp, Jupiter, Cap Aurora and Venus.

The southern part is perfect for travelers looking for a lively and festive atmosphere. Especially the Space Beach area, where there are more people, many amenities and music. As for the northern part, near the lake, it is more popular with travelers looking for peace and quiet.

Gostinu

We end our selection of the most beautiful beaches in Romania with Gostinu beach, a beach located in the interior of the country. It is therefore an intimate beach that does not attract crowds. However, it has many assets. This corner of nature, located about 70 km from Bucharest, is bordered by a large forest. Enough to delight travelers looking for a little shade…
