Is autumn so sweet? It’s true that between its flamboyant colors and mild temperatures, we appreciate this mid-season. Unfortunately, it’s not so easy for our faceβ¦ Between the effects of summer and those to come from winter, it needs adapted care. Why a face care routine in autumn?
Are you surprised? However, there are so many benefits to adapting your facial care to autumn!
To begin with, our skin has not necessarily yet recovered from the dehydration of summer that it must already face the first cool weather of the season and its risks of⦠dehydration. Oops!
To continue, your skin thickened during the summer. It accumulated skin layers to form a sort of shield against UV rays. If at first, your skin seemed prettier (acne spots can even disappear for a while!), it will quickly suffer other consequences: clogged pores, with the key, a less smooth skin texture and a few imperfections. Ouch!
To go further, if you escaped on vacation to the mountains or the seaside, returning home is certainly accompanied by a return to pollution. Maybe even a little daily stress? Arf!
Finally, with the approach of winter, the cold, the lack of light, the wind, the indoor heating, the skin will have to be strong. It is therefore necessary to prepare it by strengthening the natural protective barrier that it has on its surface: the famous hydrolipidic film!

How To Pamper Your Skin In Fall
–Step 1: Soothing
So we have the “after summer” assessment: risk of dehydration and imperfectionsβ¦ We add the “after back to school” assessment: first signs of fatigueβ¦ It’s time to appreciate the virtues of floral water!
To be applied in the morning on clean skin, it will soothe, purify, rebalance your epidermis. A kind of toning lotion⦠excellent! Particularly suitable in autumn, you might love:
- Chamomile floral water on dry or sensitive skin.
- Orange blossom floral water on combination skin
- Rosemary floral water on oily skin
- Witch hazel floral water on mature skin.
Now, we tell you with all complicity: rose floral water calms, nourishes, tones, regulates, purifies, hydratesβ¦ It wouldn’t suit everyone, by chance?
The extra tip: Cornflower floral water is decongestant. If you have dark circles or bags under your eyesβ¦
–Step 2: Nourishing
If our summer facial care routine invites us to opt for light textures to hydrate it, it will need a creamier texture in the fall to avoid tightness and redness. You can change products, but know that you should stick to the same active ingredients for at least 3 months so that they have time to take effect.
Too early to vary the pleasures? Simply add a drop of vegetable oil to the hazelnut of your treatment that you are currently applying. Top!
In terms of formula, each skin type has specific needs:
- Oily substances such as shea butter for dry skin.
- Moisturizing ingredients, such as aloe vera gel, to maintain the right balance for normal skin.
- A rather aqueous formula for oily skin: hyaluronic acid is particularly favorable to them.
- A complete treatment, both moisturizing and anti-aging for mature skin.
Finally, don’t forget that the skin takes advantage of the night to regenerate. You can alternate with a specific treatment enriched with active ingredients to pamper it while you sleep!
The extra tip: Carrot vegetable oil nourishes the skin while giving it a pretty color. Not bad for keeping a healthy glow for longer without make up!
–Step 3: Cleansing and removing make up
In the evening, the skin needs above all to be rid of the impurities accumulated during the day. This is true all year round! The cleansing and/or make-up removal step is therefore essential.
For your fall facial care, we opt for gentle formulas or cleansing oils that have the advantage of leaving the skin supple. And to allow the epidermis to keep a little sebum (essential to protect it, even when you have oily skin!), we simply wash it once a day. –Step 4: detoxifying
Despite the exfoliating treatments we did in the summer, our skin has thickened and “clogged”. It needs dead cells and other impurities to be eliminated more than ever! So continue to exfoliate once a week. It generally gives an immediate boost of radiance. So you should adopt it without hesitation!
–Step 5: strengthening
Another step to take once a week that will make a big difference⦠To gently and deeply moisturize, nothing beats a banana mask. Or your favorite moisturizing mask!
