Here are some recipes to make your own scalp exfoliation using natural ingredients.

If you have normal hair, you can exfoliate with salt. You can use coarse salt or fine salt, it doesn’t matter: both will be equally effective in activating microcirculation.

To concoct your salt scalp scrub, mix:

  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (for its detoxifying power)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (olive, sweet almond, jojoba, etc.)
  • Optional: a few drops of Tea Tree essential oil (for its detoxifying power)
  • The salt scrub will allow you to prevent hair loss and the formation of dandruff. You can also replace apple cider vinegar with lemon to purify the scalp and thus stimulate hair growth.

Exfoliation recipe for dry scalps

For dry scalps, it is better to make a scrub based on sugar and honey. To concoct your scrub, mix:

  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or shea butter
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (for its purifying and nourishing properties)

If you have oily hair, opt for a purifying clay scrub. To concoct your scrub, mix:

  • 1 tablespoon green, white or pink clay
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for its detoxifying properties)
  • This scrub will allow you to disinfect and purify your scalp, while regulating sebum production to prevent your hair from getting greasy too quickly.

An alternative to the clay scrub is the baking soda scrub. Baking soda will allow you to rid your scalp of its impurities, especially pollution, while absorbing excess sebum, to prevent the pores of your scalp from clogging. To do this, mix:

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil or shea butter
  • 1 tablespoon fine salt
