Dry, combination, or oily, each skin type has its specific foundation. Fluid, compact powder, or cream: I have selected the best foundations of the moment adapted specifically to oily skin.
To obtain a perfect complexion, choosing your foundation is sometimes a real ordeal. While normal to combination skin has no real contraindications regarding foundation texture, the same is not true for other skin types. Indeed, liquid and creamy textures are ideal for dry skin, while foamy or powder foundations (which tend to dry out the skin) benefit oily skin, for example.
The texture chosen also depends on the type of application that is favored. For fluid or foamy foundations, two solutions are available to us: they are best applied with brushes but also willingly melt between the fingers and the face. The compacts are applied with a sponge when the powders need their puff.
The nature of the skin is an essential element in the choice of the makeup, especially regarding the complexion. Texture wise, yes, but not only! The formulas offered by the different brands are not created by chance. Each composition has its benefits and skin type.
Oily Skin
Do you find it hard to get oily skin and foundation to coexist? The first produces far too much sebum, and the second leaks as soon as it is applied. But let those who encounter this problem be reassured, it is still possible to achieve this feat. How? By choosing the right products, and following a few rules.
Before wanting to cover the surface, you must therefore take care of your skin. Start by hydrating it well. Once hydrated, it will shine less, so avoid alcohol and soap-based products – which dry out – in favor of gentle formulas. Because on healthy skin, makeup will hold. It remains to be seen to not spoil this work done by applying the wrong foundation.
Another risk of skin easily prone to imperfections: the temptation to multiply the layers. But, whatever the texture of the product – fluid, cushion, compact or loose powder – you should only apply a very, very small quantity. The powder also leads to this kind of error under the guise of lightness. Result: the skin suffocates and manifests its discomfort in the form of blackheads or acne.
