How To Choose Your Summer Fragrance
It is possible to change your perfume according to your age or your style of dress. Some people also choose to change their fragrance according to the seasons. They then adopt what can be called a parenthesis perfume. This will allow you to take an olfactory break and make your fragrance evolve over the year and according to climate changes. Here are some recommendations for how to choose your summer fragrance.
How to choose your summer fragrance?
Women and men choosing their perfume mainly according to their style of clothing will be looking for lightness or exoticism in their fragrance in summer, like light summer outfits announcing the start of the holidays.
Holidays in the sun often go hand in hand with the desire to discover new sensations, as if to mark this period of break olfactory.
If, in winter, eau de parfum were rather preferred, summer could make you want to wear the same fragrance, but in eau de toilette or in eau fraîche (cf. Eau fraîche, Eau de Toilette).
Other people, on the other hand, will want to take a break. They will completely change their style of perfume in the summer. If they used to wear oriental, chypre, gourmet, or rich floral fragrances, fragrances with a lot of presence, in summer, they can go for fresh, thirst-quenching floral fragrances, even Eaux Fraiches or Eaux de Cologne.
Men and women could also be attracted by fragrances symbolizing summer holidays, such as solar fragrances , marine notes, and new freshness fragrances for men or fresh woody fragrances.
Tips for wearing perfume in the sun in summer
In summer, it is important to follow certain recommendations regarding how to wear your perfume. The sun can greatly influence the fragrance.
Indeed, perfume should not be sprayed directly on the skin. And this whatever its concentration, whether it is an eau de parfum, an eau de toilette, an eau fraîche, an eau de cologne, or a summer eau.
You will only be able to do this if it is specified on the packaging “Can be used in the sun”. Ask your perfumery for advice.
In addition, be aware that citrus fruits are now treated, in particular bergamot, mandarin, lime or other citrus fruits (see citrus facet) in order to remove the photosensitizing particles called furocoumarins. This prevents the fragrance from creating stains. However, other components, often natural, contained in the formula can also cause stains.
In general, you should know that the sun and perfume do not go well together. It is therefore best to wear perfume in the summer only in the evening. Some alcohol-free fragrances can also stain.
Alcohol is therefore not the cause of stains!. However it can cause redness, if the perfume is worn in the sun and sprayed directly on the skin.
If you absolutely want to perfume yourself in the summer on a sunny day, be sure to spray your fragrances only on your clothes and never on your skin.
Choose a signature fragrance symbolizing summer
Women and men can enjoy wearing bright, sunny, fresh, joyful or dynamic fragrances all year round.
