The Hair Care Routine To Adopt In Autumn
Autumn hair routine: UV rays, chlorine, sea saltβ¦ As the autumn season has arrived, our hair is subject to numerous attacks which alter its quality. Fall, a season that rhymes with change in temperature, doesn’t really help things, so here’s the hair care routine to adopt in autumn.
The Hair Care Routine To Adopt In Autumn
To strengthen the hair fiber, it is necessary to adapt the products in your hair routine. Here are some tips for having your dream hair:
–Space out washing your hair
Autumn is well known for its temperatures which gradually begin to drop. When it is cooler, the scalp tends to produce more sebum than usual. It is therefore possible that this phenomenon will increase, especially during this period.
On the other hand, don’t make the mistake of washing your hair more regularly, this will make it more greasy. The more times you shampoo, the more your scalp will feel attacked, thus altering the skin barrier through contact with water and cleansing products.
You will have understood, shampooing every day will not be beneficial for your hair, quite the contrary. So try to space out your washes using a dry shampoo or create hairstyles that will not make your hair appear greasy.
–Use lukewarm to cold water when washing
I grant you, when the temperatures drop, we like to take warm and comforting showers, but our hair does not necessarily agree. Why using hot water can make our hair dry and dull? The heat will simply expand the hair scales, which will subsequently sensitize them.
It is therefore advisable to wash your hair with lukewarm or cold water in order to have shiny and hydrated hair.
Washing your hair with cold water also has other benefits such as:
- Fight frizz
- Stimulate hair growth
- Cleanse and purify the scalp
- Reduce sebum production
–Focus on hydration
Our lengths, as well as the ends of our hair, are subject to various external attacks such as wind, temperature changes, friction, etc. Factors which weaken them.
The key word to keep in mind to repair your hair or simply keep it healthy is: hydration. To do this, apply a hair mask, once or twice a week, which you leave on for at least 10 to 15 minutes so that the active ingredients fully penetrate the hair fiber. Your hair will be soft and hydrated!
–Make oil baths
To strengthen your hair naturally, nothing better than vegetable oils. If you have thick hair, opt for sweet almond oil. Coconut oil, on the other hand, is ideal for very curly or frizzy hair. For oily hair, choose jojoba oil and for dry hair choose argan oil.
Apply the vegetable oil corresponding to your needs to your ends, then leave for 20 to 30 minutes. It is best to leave it overnight under a warm towel. The next day, wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo, paying particular attention to the lengths and ends.
–limit heating devices
We all know that using heating appliances damages our hair fiber and to top it all off, we can say hello to electric hair. So if you want to eliminate this problem, towel dry your hair (without a hair dryer or hot brushes), then let it air dry.
For dryer addicts, use the lowest temperature possible while keeping it away from your hair. The same goes for the straightener, it is preferable to use a not very high temperature. The ideal temperature is 180Β°.
–Eat foods rich in iron and vitamins
Have you noticed that your hair loss is more frequent during this period? This is normal, we are more likely to lose our hair in handfuls when temperatures start to drop, due to a vitamin D deficiency.
In order to limit this one-off phenomenon which lasts approximately 4 to 6 weeks, include foods rich in iron, magnesium, zinc as well as vitamins (A, E and D) in your diet. This will reduce the risk of losing your hair.
In foods that promote hair regrowth and good health, you can find:
- Fish
- Whole grains
- Kiwis
- Egg yolks
- Bananas
Eating a good balanced diet is not often easy depending on our pace of life. To help you, it is possible to take food supplements that meet the needs of your hair.
The active ingredients to favor for your fall hair routine:
- coconut oil: has a nourishing action, making hair vigorous and shiny.
- Argan oil: is an excellent antioxidant, it protects against external aggressions (pollution, sun, wind, etc.)
- Aloe Vera: is ideal for itchy scalps. It soothes and hydrates.
