The Key Pieces For Spring-Summer 2024

With the sunny days imminent, it is high time to think about what we will wear until the end of summer. Let’s zoom in on the key pieces for spring-summer 2024 that we can bet on to be at the top of fashion trends this upcoming season!

The Key Pieces For Spring-Summer 2024

Winter is soon behind us, meaning we need to make a switch in our wardrobe. Put the winter coats and thick knits out of the closet, make way for a lighter, more vibrant wardrobe! We take advantage of this change of wardrobe to sort through our closets and get rid of what we no longer want. It’s also the right time to replenish our wardrobe a little with timeless pieces, always necessary, but also items responding to current fashion trends to boost our future outfits. Here is a list of the key pieces for spring-summer 2024 to adopt ASAP!

Bermuda shorts

This season, Bermuda shorts are taking on new colors, going so far as to break away from the cheesy image that we can still attach to them: spotted in a very chic tweed at Chanel, they also opt for elegance by replacing pants suit as seen at the Akris spring-summer 2024 fashion show. Worn with a blazer, a bomber jacket or a bomber jacket, it stands out as the new piece that gives effortless style.

Short shorts

But this Fashion Week’s ultra-short trend also applies to shorts. Adopting a minimalist style, the mini-shorts are jet-set at Gucci, Chanel, Valentino and GCDS, have a neo-tailoring version at the Prada and Dolce & Gabbana fashion shows, or even more rock at Khaite and Tom Ford,

The Mini skirt

The ultra-short length is establishing itself as one of the key trends of this Spring-Summer 2024 Fashion Week. We first find it with mini-skirts, XXS suit style for the debut of Sabato di Sarno at Gucci, with ruffles at Miu Miu and Chanel, in seventies-style vinyl in the Louis Vuitton spring-summer 2024 collection, or even sexy and sculptural at the Mugler and Weinsanto fashion shows.

-The bubble skirt

This fall-winter 2023-2024 only had eyes for the long skirt, if possible in denim, which is much less compatible with the warm seasons. For this spring-summer 2024, the trend is more towards the short skirt, in a ball shape, also known as bubble skirt.

The pencil skirt revisited

In the office wardrobe, the pencil skirt is the piece that stands out in 2024. But the minimalist version is over: now, it features much more modern colors, materials and cuts. At Gucci, it comes in textured leather, or is equipped with pockets as in the Saint Laurent spring-summer 2024 show. For its part, Coperni offers it in a real festive garment, in a sequined version.

The leather skirt

Surprise trend of this Fashion Week, the leather skirt is competing with the mini-skirt. Minimalist black leather skirt from CourrΓ¨ges, 90’s low waist from Miu Miu and wrap style with sexy straps from Givenchy. The leather skirt is straight, biker style at the Andreadamo and Prada shows, or ultra long, for a minimalist femme fatale look, at Khaite. For the colored models, the skirt is slit and striped in red and black at Chanel, tied in pale green leather at Bottega Veneta and wallet style in red leather at HermΓ¨s,

Long low-waisted skirt

Low-waisted maxi skirts are popular for spring 2024. We particularly like this one with its textured denim fabric and matching top which creates a pretty feminine ensemble.

The transparent skirt

Wearing a transparent skirt is stylish this season? The challenge is daring! However, on the catwalks, designers were very daring with the combination of transparent skirts and visible underwear. To adopt it, take inspiration from the silhouette seen on the Christian Dior fashion show with a transparent skirt and a long blazer jacket that falls below the buttocks! A good choice to follow the trend without going too bare!

Leather pants

And for those who prefer leather pants, they will also be there next summer (but be careful of the hot weather). Biker-inspired, we find black leather pants in the Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Courrèges, The Attico, Miaou and KNWLS collections.

High-waisted pants

For several seasons, low rises have been at the heart of trends, but – and I can almost hear the millennial sigh of relief – it’s time to revisit the high rise. According to Loewe, the super high waist is even the only possible option. Perfect for office wear, dinners, dates and outings, the high-waisted rule can apply to all your bottoms, whether they’re jeans, joggers or suit pants. Invest in a beautiful, timeless belt to elevate the look.

Bodysuit

The bodysuit is worn alone and next to the skin. Immaculate at AlaΓ―a, in soft knit for Victoria Beckham or in fishnet at Dior… It abandons its main use for couture interpretations and reveals elegant footwork.

The polo collar

Fashion revisits the classic “polo” neckline in a modern and elegant way, offering versatility that allows you to easily transition from a chic look to a more sporty style with ease.

The Shirt

Discreetly, the shirt is making a comeback at Spring-Summer 2024 Fashion Week. For the more classic, the striped shirt is worn as a dress at Louis Vuitton, Courrèges and Philosophy, we see long white shirts at Miu Miu, Valentino and Simone Rocha or white workwear shirts revisited at Helmut Lang, Jil Sander and Fendi. Finally, Prada and Coperni offer hybrid shirts with oversized sleeves and Y/project a rather cool crinkled model with a big black petticoat also crinkled.

The sculptural corset

At Coperni we saw them shine like bronze under the Sparta sun, and shine in abyss black leather on the Ferragamo catwalk. To avoid getting too hot in everyday battles, Courrèges delivers a mini version molded on the chest. And since most good things are made of paradoxes, these powerful screens also know how to combine delicacy. They thus elongate the silhouette in divine eglantine sheers at Vuitton, while Mugler, like a good master of the forges, combines his anatomical pieces with captivating black opacities.

Mini dress

Then comes the mini dress. At Chanel, Miu Miu and Versace, it adopted a deceptively demure sixties style. Conversely, at Maison Margiela, designer John Galliano offers a punk and baroque mini dress with the most beautiful effect, while at Andreadamo, it comes in nude drapes. Finally, during this Fashion Week, the Marni, Missoni and Dsquared2 fashion shows dare a more-than-mini mini-dress, which already promises to be viral for next summer.

-White Dress

Next summer, the white dress will compete with the slip dress and the little black dress. But to avoid the “wedding dress” effect, we rely on short and refined white dresses like those seen during this Fashion Week on the Gucci, Valentino, Tory Burch and Theory shows which draw on a nineties style; or even immaculate dresses that play on transparency for a fetish-inspired style at AlaΓ―a or neo-tee-shirt style at Luar, without forgetting the long, minimalist white dresses from Proenza Schouler, Khaite and Sportmax.

Lace detail dress

Among the strong trends of the year is the return of the aesthetic of the 1990s, notably the love for the simplicity of slip dresses. For this spring-summer 2024, the slip dress with lace details is particularly trendy. Whether you choose it long or short, and more or less transparent, you can play with superpositions. Enough to create more or less opacity, play of textures, patterns and length, depending on your modesty and reluctance

The transparent dress

No, the transparent dress is no longer just reserved for the Kate Moss of the 1990s. In 2024, this piece can be worn day or night. At 16Arlington, we put it under an XXL knit for an elegant look. While The Attico focuses on a tulle dress so light that it only needs to be worn next to the skin. Not to mention the ever-increasing number of celebrities wearing it on red carpets.

-The perfecto

The perfect companion to leather pants, the perfecto is also making a comeback on the catwalks. Featuring balloon sleeves at Chloé or in an oversized version at Courrèges, it is available in a skimpy version at Stella McCartney, Atlein, Rick Owens and Pressiat.

The biker jacket

It was the star of the catwalks and the streets in spring-summer 2023. A year later, the leather jacket is still not going wrong. On the contrary, it appears in many spring-summer 2024 collections. For a confident silhouette, we avoid the first degree side of the β€œbiker” look. We therefore select it in smooth brown leather as seen at Acne Studios, or in an ultra-chic version that we match with suit pants. The idea: adapt this great motorcycle basic to office fashion codes.

The XXL Blazer

Easy to put on, versatile, the XXL blazer has it all and is as comfortable as it is trendy! We put it on during the day to perfect a look as well as at nightfall over our evening outfit! Style assured!

The tweed jacket

Tweed jackets are everywhere this season! We love them for their cleverly chic side which reminds us of the jackets of the famous Chanel brand.

The trench coat

If you only had one coat to get this spring, it would definitely be a classic trench coat! We love it for its practicality and its classic look that goes with everything.

Pockets galore

Generally speaking, women’s wardrobes lack pockets, or they are too small. This year, fashion is taking the lead and offering practical compartments galore. The safari jacket signed Saint Laurent thus becomes more utilitarian than ever, in the same way as the multi-pocket jackets spotted at Prada. In 2024, we dress to carry the essentials in our clothes, even if it means abandoning the handbag.

Fashion is a space for creativity, allowing you to dare new associations and get out of your comfort zone! However, I recommend that you adapt your choices to best match your body shape and personality: don’t compromise on style just because a trend is by definition transitory!
