Walking Barefoot

Did you know that walking barefoot 5 minutes a day is very beneficial for your health? Spending the day with your feet locked in shoes is not something natural. Shoes are obviously undisputed everyday allies for protection.

Walk without shoes

When you wear shoes, some areas of your feet aren’t stimulated because your gait isn’t natural, but when you walk barefoot, it’s the heel that hits the ground first, followed by the arch of the foot. then by the pulp of the toes.

However, with shoes, you go directly from heel to toe. Walking barefoot therefore stimulates all areas of your feet.

Walking barefoot for just a few minutes a day helps stimulate your blood circulation by freeing your feet from any compression. This facilitates the oxygenation of the body and the supply of nutrients to the muscles and organs of the body.

This way of walking will also allow you to work on the so-called “reflex” zones located on the supports of your arch of the foot.

Your body rests on these areas, and wearing shoes prevents the body from distributing its weight evenly between the front and back of the feet.

The benefits of walking barefoot

Taking off your shoes therefore helps combat problems in the ankles, knees and back.

We understand that the feet lack stimulation when they are locked in shoes. However, they are the cradle of thousands of nerve endings which, if they are not activated, become charged with positive ions.

The latter are electrical particles responsible for fatigue.

Walking barefoot allows these nerve endings to discharge these ions. Energy circulates better in the body, which reduces stress, anxiety and states of fatigue.

Walk in socks

According to several studies, walking in socks at home has many benefits. You don’t really need to be barefoot to experience the same health benefits.

  • Improve balance and posture: Full contact of the sole of the foot with the ground or floor allows the body to increase the support surface and maintain balance without effort. Yoga practitioners know that performing asanas barefoot makes it easier to maintain balance. Also, some types of shoes, like flip flops and flat-soled slippers in general, are not ideal for posture. Better then to walk barefoot.
  • Strengthen feet and muscles: Walking barefoot strengthens the muscles of the feet and legs and makes better use of the toes, which would otherwise remain locked in a shoe. Walking barefoot is considered helpful in making your toes more flexible.
  • Reduce leg swelling: Especially in summer, do you have the problem of swollen legs? Walking barefoot can be helpful, as this good habit improves blood circulation and therefore helps to avoid swollen legs and ankles due to circulation problems.

Walk around the house in socks

Contact with the ground promotes the role of electrons which, passing through the body, neutralize the effect of free radicals on healthy tissues, promoting the healing of certain diseases. It’s relaxing, in the scientific sense of the word.

Walking around the house with the socks loosens the veins and muscles and improves balance, especially in children taking their first steps.

And it makes a natural and continuous massage of the soles of the feet.

Walking with only socks or even bare feet at home brings more benefits:

  • Protect yourself from bacteria: Don’t want to go barefoot because you fear germs and bacteria? In fact, some studies warn us about germs and bacteria that are present in our shoes. If it’s hygiene issues that are holding back your desire to walk barefoot, consider that you’re experimenting with this good habit at home, on floors you’ve just cleaned.
  • Stop toxic substances: Wearing shoes when you are at home is not necessarily a good habit. Entering the house with shoes can be a doorway not only for germs but also for toxic substances like herbicides. So never forget to take off your shoes when entering the house.

Do not wait any longer to free your feet!
