Which Sports During The Summer?
What if the few weeks of vacation you give yourself every summer were an opportunity to finally get in the saddle and find a sport that really suits you? Sometimes taking the time to discover and enjoy an activity can encourage “the click” and motivate you to stay active over the long term. If the holidays are essential to recharge the batteries and recover well from the stress and vagaries of everyday life, they are also very pleasant to take the time to try new things, including certain sports activities that we would not take the time to discover the rest of the year. Let’s zoom in on which sports during the summer!
Which sport to practice during the hot season
Let’s discover together the sports that we should try this summer to find and keep the line permanently.
– Swimming
Summer is the ideal season to discover swimming, or even simply learn to swim.
Swimming involves all the muscles of the body, like a full-body workout, in a medium that frees you from gravity and joint pain. If running abuses your knees, hips or back, swimming only targets the muscle masses recruited to move in the water. Also, swimming burns as many calories as running. It stimulates muscle tone, helps you lose weight and visceral fat.
To get the most benefit from your swimming sessions on body composition and weight loss, follow these valuable tips:
- Swim before breakfast. You will encourage the mobilization of stored fat to find energy.
- Take l-carnitine, an amino acid that transports fatty acids into the mitochondria of our cells to convert them into usable energy. Carnitine will help you burn fat faster, while increasing your muscular endurance during exercise.
- Start slowly, 15 to 20 minutes a day, then gradually increase the intensity of your sessions. You should ideally be able to alternate sprint sequences with gentler sequences, such as: 1 minute of fast swimming followed by 30 seconds of slower swimming, for a duration of 20 minutes.
– nordic walking
Originally performed on snow and with a pair of skis, Nordic walking has now become a popular activity among seniors because it stimulates cardiac and muscular activity without stressing the joints. It also allows you to vary the difficulties in order to make each outing stimulating and effective for weight control and muscle tone.
You can practice nordic walking with a pair of shoes suitable for walking or running, as well as two sticks with which you rest on the ground. Seemingly easy, this physical activity is very energy-intensive because it engages 80 to 90% of the muscles, compared to 50% for traditional walking. Deep muscles, shoulders, legs and arms are ideally mobilized, ideal for toning the body and effectively burning fat. Its advantage is that you can practice this walk everywhere: on the sand, in the mountains, in the forest, on a fitness trail or even in town.
– Bodybuilding
In the gym, with body weight or with rubber bands, bodybuilding is by far the most effective sport for toning up and burning fat. The muscles, when they are forced into an effort requiring the mobilization of additional loads, burn calories up to 72 hours after a session! In addition, you can choose to prioritize an area of the body with specific exercises, which no other sport can do.
Take the time to try out bodyweight or rubber band sessions on the beach, or take advantage of your free time to do a trial session in the weight room.
If you become a fan of bodybuilding, remember that nutrition plays an equally important role as regularity and seriousness in training.
- Consume enough protein to help your muscles tone up and better use energy (from carbohydrates and stored fat)
- Eat at regular intervals, ideally 4 times a day
- Use the incredible benefits of superfoods to enrich your diet and stay in shape all year round.
