Welcome to Amber Hour: Easing Into Fall

There’s a moment every year, usually somewhere in the back half of August, when the light changes one more time. Gold gives way to honey, and honey gives way to something a little deeper still β amber. It’s warm, but it’s not summer-warm anymore. It has an edge to it, a slight coolness hiding just underneath, the first honest hint that the season is actually about to turn instead of just gesturing at the idea of turning. That’s the light behind Amber Hour, the series starting today and running every day through August 30th β and it’s the final chapter of a three-part story I’ve been telling all summer long.
If you’ve been with me since Golden Hour Girl in July, you already know how this story started: a fifteen-day reset built around slowing down, simplifying, and paying real attention. Honey Hour picked that up in early August and asked a different question β not how do I start slowing down, but how do I keep tending to what I already started, as the season began its long, slow lean toward change. Amber Hour is the third and final movement. This one isn’t about resisting the turn into fall, or pretending summer will last forever if I just deepen my routine one more time. It’s about actually crossing the threshold, deliberately and without panic, into whatever comes next.
Amber Hour: Fourteen Days of Transition
Starting today, I’m walking through the same fourteen core categories from the last two series β beauty, fashion, style, wellness, travel, home β but every single post in this series is built around one specific question: what does it actually look like to let a routine, a wardrobe, a mindset genuinely transition, rather than holding onto summer past the point where it’s serving me?
The Full Series Roadmap
- Makeup β the early fall face, softer and less sun-driven
- Skincare β repairing and renewing after a full summer
- Body Care β handling a fading tan and drier skin honestly
- Hair Care β restoring real strength before the season fully turns
- Clothing β the wardrobe shift into early fall
- Accessories β richer textures for a new season
- Shoes β the early fall shoe rotation
- Personal Style β how style transitions, not just clothing
- Outfit Ideas β full looks for early fall days
- Fitness β a fresh rhythm as motivation resets
- Health β habits for the actual season shift
- Mindfulness β a practice built around new beginnings
- Travel β the best early fall destinations, closing out the trilogy
- Home Decor β the final refresh, completing the whole series
Why “Amber Hour” Closes the Trilogy
Gold, honey, amber β it’s not a random progression. Each one is a real, physical description of how late-day light actually shifts as summer moves toward fall, and each series has followed that shift honestly rather than forcing a single mood across three months that don’t actually feel the same. Golden Hour Girl was bright and permission-giving. Honey Hour was warmer, slower, a little more reflective. Amber Hour is the deepest and, in some ways, the most bittersweet of the three β not because ending things is sad, but because a genuine ending, done well, is worth marking rather than rushing past.
What Makes This Series Different From the First Two
Where Golden Hour Girl was about starting and Honey Hour was about deepening, Amber Hour is explicitly about transition. That means a few things practically: skincare shifts from sun-repair to genuine seasonal renewal. The wardrobe update isn’t just deepening tones anymore, it’s introducing real fall pieces. The mindfulness post isn’t about savoring what’s left β it’s about welcoming what’s next. Every post in this series carries that same throughline: not clinging, not rushing, just an honest, deliberate crossing over.
How This Connects to Golden Hour Girl and Honey Hour
Just like Honey Hour built directly on Golden Hour Girl rather than starting from scratch, Amber Hour builds on both of the series before it. The closet edit gets its final evolution here. The mindfulness practice reaches its natural conclusion. The fitness routine gets one more honest adjustment. If you’ve followed all the way from July, this series will feel like the actual ending of something you’ve been part of the whole way through β and if you’re just joining now, every post still stands completely on its own.
A Personal Note on Why This Series Needed to Exist
I built Honey Hour around an anxiety I named honestly in the Golden Hour Girl intro β the tendency to mentally check out of summer before it’s actually over. Writing Honey Hour helped me stay present through the back half of August, but it also made something else clear: eventually, the checking-out feeling isn’t premature anymore. Eventually, summer really is ending, and the healthiest thing isn’t to keep resisting that forever β it’s to let the transition actually happen, with the same intentionality I’ve tried to bring to every other part of this three-part project. Amber Hour is me practicing that, in real time, one post a day.

FAQ: About the Amber Hour Series
Q: Do I need to have followed Golden Hour Girl and Honey Hour to understand this series?
A: Not at all β every post stands on its own, though there are callbacks throughout for anyone who’s followed the full trilogy.
Q: Is this series actually about fall, or still about summer?
A: It’s genuinely the bridge β rooted in the last days of summer but built entirely around welcoming what’s coming next rather than resisting it.
Q: Why end the whole trilogy here, at fourteen posts, instead of extending it further?
A: Fourteen days brings us to the very end of August, which felt like the honest, natural close of this specific story β a full arc from reset to deepening to transition.
Q: Will there be a new series after this one?
A: I don’t know yet, honestly β and I think that’s the right way to end a trilogy built around presence rather than always looking ahead to the next project.
Q: What if I’m not ready for summer to end?
A: That’s exactly the feeling this whole series is built around addressing, gently, post by post β you don’t have to be fully ready for the shift to still let it happen with intention.
Final Thoughts
This is the last series in a project that’s shaped my entire summer, and I’m feeling that a little more than I expected to as I write this intro. Fourteen days, one category a day, closing out something that started back in July with a single post about golden light. Thank you for being here for all of it, or for just this final chapter β either way, I’m genuinely glad you’re here.
