Welcome to Ember Hour: Settling Into Autumn

There’s a particular kind of glow that shows up once a season has genuinely arrived rather than just started arriving. Not the bright gold of early summer, not the deepening honey of August, not even the transitional amber of late-summer evenings β this is something steadier. An ember glow. Warm, low, and settled, the kind of light that doesn’t ask anything of you except to sit near it a little longer. That’s the feeling behind Ember Hour, the series starting today and running every day through September 14th easing and settling into autumn.
If you followed along with the trilogy that carried through this whole summer β Golden Hour Girl in July, Honey Hour in early August, Amber Hour closing things out in late August β you already know the shape of what’s coming, even though this series is doing something genuinely different from all three. Those series were all, in one way or another, about change: starting a reset, deepening a routine, transitioning into something new. Ember Hour isn’t about change at all. Fall has actually arrived by the time this series begins, and the whole point here is to settle into it β to build routines meant to last through an entire season rather than bridge quickly into the next one.
Ember Hour: Fourteen Days of Settling In
Starting today, I’m walking through the same fourteen core categories that have anchored every series this year β beauty, fashion, style, wellness, travel, home β but this time, every post is built around a single, calmer question: now that the season has actually arrived, what does a genuinely good, sustainable version of it look like?

Why “Ember Hour” Comes After the Trilogy
Gold, honey, amber β each one described a season actively changing. Ember is different. An ember doesn’t shift; it holds. It’s steady, contained warmth rather than a moving, deepening light. Naming this series Ember Hour is a deliberate acknowledgment that the work of transitioning is genuinely done β Amber Hour handled that in full β and what’s left now is simply the (very enjoyable) work of living well inside a season that’s already here.
What Makes This Series Different From the Trilogy
Where every post in the trilogy was framed around evolution or transition β “what’s different from last time” β Ember Hour posts are framed around depth and sustainability instead. The skincare routine isn’t reacting to a fading tan anymore; it’s built fresh for actual fall conditions. The wardrobe isn’t bridging from summer; it’s a genuine, complete fall capsule. The mindfulness practice isn’t about savoring an ending or welcoming a beginning; it’s about the quieter, steadier work of actually being present in a season once the newness of it has worn off.
How This Connects to the Summer Trilogy
Even though this series isn’t part of the trilogy itself, nothing here starts from zero. The color palette established back in Golden Hour Girl, deepened in Honey Hour, and genuinely transitioned in Amber Hour is still the same underlying identity Ember Hour builds from. If you followed the whole journey, this will feel like watching a project you’ve followed all year finally reach a settled, confident place. If you’re joining fresh, every post still stands completely on its own.
A Personal Note on Why I Wanted a “Landed” Series
After three series built entirely around change β resetting, deepening, transitioning β I found myself genuinely craving something different: content built around a season that’s just… here. No more tracking a fading tan or bracing for a shift in daylight. Just the actual, settled experience of fall, given the same care and attention the whole summer got. Ember Hour is my answer to that craving, and I think it might end up being my favorite series of the whole year because of it.

FAQ: About the Ember Hour Series
- Q: Do I need to have followed the summer trilogy to understand this series? A: Not at all β every post stands completely on its own, with just occasional light references for anyone who’s been following since July.
- Q: Is this series about early fall or the whole season?Β A: It is for the whole season β unlike the trilogy, in which we were tracking a specific transition, Ember Hour is sure to be a lasting fall routine.
- Q: Why does the tone feel calmer than the trilogy’s posts? A: Intentionally so β those series were about active change, and this one is about the steadier work of actually living well inside a season once it’s arrived.
- Q: Will there be another series after this one? A: Possibly, once fall settles further into winter β but for now, Ember Hour is meant to feel complete and self-contained rather than a bridge to something else.
- Q: What if I want to revisit something from the trilogy while following this series? A: I’ll link back to the relevant trilogy post wherever it’s genuinely useful, so the two eras of content can be used together easily.
Final Thoughts
I’m genuinely excited about this series in a quieter, steadier way than I was about any of the trilogy’s three chapters β there’s something satisfying about building content around a season that’s actually here rather than one that’s actively shifting under my feet. Fourteen days, one category a day, building toward a version of fall that feels genuinely lived in rather than just arrived at.
