I did a complete closet edit ahead of this series and kept exactly the pieces that work as hard as I do this summer. Here’s what made the cut into my summer wardrobe essentials list, and what didn’t.

I bought fewer pieces this year and I’m wearing my closet harder than ever — which is exactly the point. A handful of well-chosen basics beats a closet full of one-outfit pieces every time.
